S H O P: paris chic xx

It has arrived, the first North American Maison Kitsuné boutique has opened on a lovely sunlit corner on the ground floor of the NoMad hotel.  The bright solid cashmere of this Parisian fashion and music brand caught my eye for a brief moment at Opening Ceremony years ago.  I tend to consider high end boutique visits like museum visits, for taking in the beautiful art and just for looks.  But I will likely swing by here again when nostalgia kicks in- the boutique has a distinctly Parisian feel the moment you walk through the door, from the parquet floors to the elegant and chic displays.  It’s easy to imagine you are on Rue Richelieu rather than the West Indian wholesale strip of Broadway but then again, with the advent of the Ace Hotel just a block away (where my favorite OC branch resides), my old ‘hood is really taking on a new feel.  I love their suede sandal picks from Michel Vivien’s spring line and the grand aroma of their signature Kitsuné candles, especially the Mint.
